Search engines?

  I was wondering:

  How do you get your blog on a search engine? So far when I search for my blog on Google? By typing in the exact domain, I get nothing. How long does it take? Is there something you have to do, or does WordPress do it for you?

  It will happen automatically. Every time you publish a post, wordpress pings all the search engines and services for you.

  You can speed the process up a little by verifying your blog with Google, Bing and Yahoo as explained here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/ .

  Generally it has been taking 2-3 weeks lately, but I’ve also seen it take 4-6 weeks. It just all depends on the search engines and how much they have queued up for indexing.

  The important thing is to keep blogging so they have something to index.

  Having your blog linked from your homepage or some other site can also speed up the process
