search engines

  I am new to all this. I am building a new site and was wondering how long it takes to be found in search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc. What can I do to increase my changes of being located? I am at: http://www.safesoccer.com (it will link to wordpress.com). I am not done building the site yet, but would still like to know how the Google and Yahoo searches work.

  google and yahoo… for google, it will take a week or two. with yahoo…. hmm… it may take about a month. i’m not completely sure, but around that time.
