Search form in my blog
-
Is there a way to put a search form on my blog, with fields where the filters and search conditions are set?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello @karloswitt
You can use this Search Widget to add a search functionality to your blog. But I suppose it is not possible to select filters to the search using that widget. You can try to directly type in the filter name into the search form if you want.
The Search widget will return results from the titles and the bodies of your posts and pages, and from media titles, alt text, file names, and single image captions. It will not return results from widgets, comments, categories, gallery captions or other text, or tags.

Let us know if this works for you. Thanks! 🙂

This widget is that I have included in my blog.
I was wondering if there was another, with more advanced options.
Anyway, thanks a lot.

@karloswitt I don’t think there is any type of advanced option for search.
But I am tagging this thread for staff attention. They might be able to assist you further with this.

Hi karloswitt,
I was wondering if there was another, with more advanced options.
The Search Widget is currently the only search feature available, which doesn’t provide any advanced options. If you let me know what sort of advanced search options you were looking for I can pass the feedback on :)

This is my real case:
I am working in a new blog on WordPress, dedicated entirely to inform about all type of courses in MOOC format.
The truth is that, instead of having the entries all the sequences, in continuous mode, I would like to be able to allow blog visitors to filter the results according to the data fields. Example: you can choose whether the course is open or closed, you can indicate the start date, etc.
I appreciate much interest and attention with this topic.

Hi karloswitt,
It sounds like you would like quite a bespoke search feature. I’ll pass on your feedback and highlight some of the examples you’ve given.
Thanks for the extra information!
