search function

Search seems to work fine, EXCEPT when I shorten a page, then it refuses to highlight the searched for word when I open the whole page. In other words it does not search the adumbrated part of the post. Can this be corrected, or not? Also, I need to have a listing of all my posts by just their title alphabetically. So then a person could browse through all the posts by title and click on the one they want to read and so on. It seems nowhere are just the post titles listed.
