Search function works in editing mode, but not browsing mode. Any suggestions, please?!
-
Neither the native WP search function, nor the Relevanssi plugin which I installed and set up returns any results at all (even words which I know are there!) in our WP website. However, searching works just fine in editing mode.
Is this likely to be a problem arising from the skin we’re using, or is this a known problem that arises for other reasons?
NB this is a for a closed group site containing professional references for work use, so SEO is not of any importance at all (we’ve blocked search engines’ access); our members just need to be able to find text within the site.

Hi there!
Can you please let me know the address of the site you’re working on?
Please note that these forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only. If your site is using the open-source WordPress.org software you need to seek help at these forums:

Thanks!

The site is members.forrestmls.org.
Ah, thanks – I didn’t realize there was a different support system for .org sites.
I’ll post my query over there!
Maybe the difference (.org vs .com support sites) might be made more prominent of each of the two sites’ home page? By definition, a proportion of newbies will not have realized this – like so many things, it’s obvious once one knows, but not necessarily beforehand!
