Search loses formatting?

  Newbie to WordPress and blogging….. I notice that when I use the search function, the posting that is displayed is shown without formatting or any graphics I embedded. Is that an attribute of the theme I’ve used, or a limitation of the search function? Thanks.

  it’s an attribute of specific themes. you might check out engtech’s theme review to find out which ones, although i’m not sure he’s tracking that feature.

  Gotta admit that most theme designs I’ve seen do it that way. Ditto on their archive pages. Encourages clicking through into the article.

  i dunno how i feel about archive pages, but the idea of a search page being a readable archive is pretty dumb, imo. for my own site, i use a seperate plugin to strip the search results down to 100 characters or so. (more like google results)
