  Is it possible to choose where the search post is on a page/post (without upgrading)? it gets lost below all the comments, related posts etc.

  Hi,

  A Search Widget may be inserted into any widget area, at any point in the widget. The limiting factor is where a particular theme allows widget areas to be located.

  On the theme presently applied on your site (Twenty Seventeen), you may add a search widget at the top of your sidebar widget area. That would place it pretty close to the header area. There are themes that have an optional slide out widget area in the header area.

  You may also insert a Search Block into a page or post, as described in the Add a Search Block to a Page or Post section of the Search Widget support page. This would allow a search box to be placed in the header area on certain themes, those that allow the content of a page to display on a certain page template, for example.
