Search results and single column content positions

Add topic to favorites
Q 1: When preforming a search in my blog (e.g. http://pippih.se/?s=frasse) the results that appear are positioned a bit down on the page. How do I move the bunch of the up a bit, so that it looks better?

Q 2: I’d also like to move the single column content (http://pippih.se/s/)up so that its position is the same as the one of the two column content.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sorry, that site is self-hosted and you need to head over to the WordPress.org forums as that is where self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG are supported.

These forums are for those hosted here on the wordpress.COM free hosting service and things here work differently.

No, it’s not, I’ve just got costum CSS and an own domain name. It’s on wp.com.

I’m sorry, the link to wordpress at the bottom threw me because it is linked to wordpress.ORG instead of wordpress.COM.

In your CSS, go back in and change the bottom margin value set in the following from 200px back to the original 20px as shown below.
```
#content h1, #content h2, #content h3, #content h4, #content h5, #content h6 {
margin: 0 0 20px;
}
```
I don’t see any content on http://pippih.se/s/ so I don’t know what to move up, but the change I mention above may take care of that also.

Ok, I tried the code out now, but it didn’t work. The thing I want to move is the whole white area in which the content is located. On my front page the space between the header image and the posts are is aprox 10px, but when searching and looking at one column content this space is maybe 40 or 50px. So it’s not the content I wanna move, it’s the whole content area.

Ah, now I understand. Add this and edit the top padding value to close the gap on pages.
```
.page #main {
padding-top: 40px;
}
```
This second bit works for the gap on the top of the search pages (although the first bit I gave worked as well) but I have targeted specifically at the search results page now.
```
.search #content h1 {
margin-bottom: 20px;
}
```
Also, put anything that I give you at the very bottom of your CSS so that it overrides any like declarations higher up in your CSS.

I just can’t get that .page #main { padding-top: 40px; } to work, though the other ones work perfectly.

Add the important attribute. In Firebug it is not required, but it should force whatever is overriding it out. Again, edit the 40px value to what you want.

`.page #main {
padding-top: 40px !important;
}

Did you EVER, EVER try adjusting the 40px value? 40px is what it was originally.

Do this and get rid of any others that you have scattered around in your CSS. You have #main stuff all over the place and it is likely all fighting itself.
