Searching by tags/#tags

    I am looking for a way to have a search engine on an e-commerce multi-vendor site where the customer could search for multiple tags and negative tags to narrow down their search. eg

    + Metal
    +handmade
    +one of a kind
    +red

    -wood
    -painted
    -fabric
    – blue

    I wish for the ability to have multiple of these where the +tag is searched for the – tag is removed from the search

    On to of this I wish for the vendor to have the ability to add their own tags if they wish or the auto fill for spell check reasons.

    I was wondering if there is a plug in for this or if there is a better way for searching for this as I am knew and can’t find anything.

    A great example of what I am looking for is like on Pinterest and how their tags work.

    Let’s make sure I understand the question. You want folks to be able to use a tag search to find products on the site?

    You can add tags to your products with in the WooCommerce system. I’m not sure if your’e looking for something more advanced like this plugin though? https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-product-search/

    At this moment in time I am using the free version of wooCommerce and Dokan.
    However the tags that I have seen with those aren’t fullfilling the criteria I need.

    To make this a bit easier to understand I would like a function like Instagram’s hashtags combined with a search engine, for example instead of searching for something via the name, you would instead search for the tags that are relevant to the product. I.e. the colour, material, etc. this would make it easier to find things that customers don’t know the name of.

    And as an extra feature searching for negative tags meaning things that the customer does not want to be searched. This would help the customer narrow down the search to see if the product they’re wanting is there or if none exist

    In order to do this I am thinking that I would need multiple tags for each product. Approximately 20 per product so that the search engine could be optimised correctly. I am very new to all this and I know that my describing of this is properly the worst and I apologise but I was wondering if there was a plug-in or something for this direct feature as I have been told that woocommerce and Dokan have an issue where if you add too many tags you slow down your entire site to a crawl.

    Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated thanks.
