Searching for a blog

  Why can I not find a/my blog by putting the title of it into the search field?
  If some-one comes to the wordpress homepage and enters the name of my blog into the search field, surely that should instantly bring up my blog.
  And yet it does not.
  Could this be something for you to look into.

  Hi. The WordPress.COM search engine indexes posts, not blog titles or authors. That’s how it’s designed.

  I tagged this thread; perhaps it would be best to move it to the “ideas” forum as a suggestion to change the current search engine?

  To the WordPress development team – if you could do something to make a blog name searchable/findable from the search function that would be great. :-)
  Even a subject search would be really helpful too.

  Probably one of the best ways to search for a blog name would be to use Google with the following put into the Google search box.

  site:http://wordpress.com blog name

  Yes, that’s how I have ended up doing it in the past.
  But it does seem a bit incongruous that you can’t search for a blog title from the WordPress homepage.

  I guess I am so used to the way that the Google search engine works that I rather expect all search functions to work similarly.
  (that would be nice, if WordPress could implement that… ;-)
