  I’ve set up the site (well almost), how would people find it when searching on google or yahoo as it doesn’t appear to be showing

  The site seems very new. It will probably take a while for search engines to add it. This support document might give you some more ideas:

  You are building good content. You might want to remove that “first blog post” with the default wording because it doesn’t need to be part of your site search results.
