Searching for website on Google
-
Hello!
Before I bought my website domain, I had a blog with the same name: Howe to roam the world with wordpress.
I then bought my domain in December 2017 and have not used my blog for sometime.
When I search for my website on google now, my first blog howetoroamtheworld.wordpress.com shows up first and my domain website howetoroamtheworld.co.uk does not show.
Is there a way where I can remove my old blog and have my new website showing in the results?
Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, Sites that have been around for a while tend to show up higher in search results than newer sites so there are a couple of things you can do:
Since your old site is visible, if you are able to access your dashboard for your old WordPressdotcom website, change your site’s visibility to Private following this guide https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/ (reversible) or delete it https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/ (mostly not reversible). It will take a while, 4-6 weeks, for search engines to recrawl and reindex your site so the change in search results won’t be overnight.
If you are not able to log in to change your site Privacy settings or delete your old site, there’s nothing that WordPressdotcom can do to help you with this. However, if you keep posting fresh content very frequently on your new site eventually the search results will come around.
Hope that helps.
