second blog
-
I have linked a second blog to my initial one. It has a name and address but I cannot configure the page. When I do, it reverts back to some sort of jumbled mess.
I have paid the $99 premium for my original blog. Does this cover my second blog also or do I need to spend another $99 to customize that page also?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Please note that WordPress.com Premium is per blog not per account. If you would like the Premium upgrade on maggiesrants.wordpress.com as well, you will have to purchase another Premium upgrade.
Let me know if you have any questions with this!
-
Thanks. That makes sense but I am still having problems with the blog appearance as the main photo I have chosen seems to have splintered all over the page.
Also, I thought I paid the extra $18 to ensure that the address would be maggiesrants.com NOT maggiesrants.wordpress.com and this doesn’t seem to have happened.
Perhaps you could shed some light on this.

When I visit your site the photo doesn’t look splintered. This is what I see:
https://cloudup.com/cGkrK-VxtlIDo you see something different?

A custom domain for your other site (maggiesmoments.com) is part of your premium bundle, but I see no evidence that you also purchased a custom domain for maggiesrants.wordpress.com.
I see that you had a conversation with Jason on live chat about adding this upgrade a couple days ago. Were you not able to complete the purchase?

Thanks so much for getting back to me.
I finally figured out how to “fix” the problem and it looks fine.
I understand that I would need to buy a second “Premium Package” which I am not prepared to do at this point but thanks so much for your suggestions.
Cheers,

Hey lizthefair:
I'm writing to you because you were so helpful in the past.
When I set up my second site, I did not ask for it to be “Premium”. I think I added the $9.99 privacy thing (or something like that) but now I find that my Credit Card has been charged with $99 for a Premium. When I went to the site to ask them to cancel and 'refund' I was told that because “I requested it on February 13 – which I did not”, it was too late for a refund.
However, my original site is scheduled for 'renewal' in April and it seems they have 'swtiched' site preferences and cancelled that upgrade – in that it won't be renewed. So now, I have paid for something I did not request – and it is definitely NOT displaying Premium characteristics and have my original site seemingly becoming 'non-premium' in April.
Seriously, I really just want to close down both sites and go with Blogger because this is a mess. I don't have that kind of money to be throwing around and it seems almost impossible to contact an actual person at WordPress!
Can you PLEASE help??

Hi Maggy,

Your second site (maggiesrants.wordpress.com/) doesn’t have any upgrades on it at all. No domain upgrade, no nothing.
You were changed $99 on 2/14 for the auto renewal of your Premium Package on your main site ( maggiesmoments.wordpress.com) That’s the site your custom domain maggiesmoments.com is attached to.
That payment renewed your Premium upgrade on your site for a year. Which means it now expires on 3/14/16.
You can see all of your upgrades here:
https://maggiesmoments.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgradesSo, I’m not seeing anything that seems amiss. Did I miss anything, or are you all set?

Well, what I’m not understanding is that the premium “upgrade” for Maggy’s Moments isn’t supposed to be due until April!! I was not going to renew it due to financial constraints so I’m not sure why it was implemented NOW – coincidentally – at the same time I set up the additional site, ie. February 13th – according to WordPress docs.

When sites have domains attached to them, the auto-renew is triggered a month in advance in case there is a problem with the credit card (it’s usually been a year since the card was last used, so expired cards aren’t uncommon). Your Premium upgrade was purchased last March, so we are exactly a month from your renewal date now.
All of that having been said, If you didn’t intend to renew, I can refund your payment and let the upgrade expire naturally. If you’d like to keep the domain name, but not the Premium upgrade, I can separate them so you can pay for the domain renewal when it comes due (which won’t be until May) without keeping the rest of the Premium upgrade.
Let me know how you want to proceed and that’s what we will do.

Thanks for this clarification lizthefair!!
I would really appreciate it if you could refund my payment and let the upgrade expire naturally. If you can separate the domain renewal, also, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for looking after this for me. It’s very kind, thoughtful and helpful for you.
Could you just let me know when it’s all been ‘done’!!!
Thanks again.

Dear lizthefair (or anyone else equally helpful at WordPress)I have two new questions for you.Question One Since the Upgrade on Maggies Moments is about to expire next month, I'm wondering exactly what the blog will look like in terms of its overall 'presentation'.
Will it retain all of its content but just revert back to a less sophisticated look? Or, will I lose some of the content itself?Question TwoThe other idea I am considering is whether or not to simply just close down both blogs. I mean who really cares what I have to say anyway? lol!In order to do that, can I copy and paste into a Word Document all of the written content and illustrations/photos since most of it was written directly onto the blog. I would not want to lose everything I have written because I might eventually 'publish' it into a tiny 'heirloom' volume for my kids!! Big thrill for them!! haha!!I would really value your input and instruction, dear lady. Thanks so much.Maggy -

The only thing that will change about your site is the custom colors and fonts will no longer be available to you, so those will go back to the defaults. You won’t lose any of the content.

You could do that, but exporting the content would be better. Here’s more info on how to do that:
You can’t open the export file in Word, but that would let you move your content to another blog or website pretty easily.
All of that having beens said, I really think your best option is to let the site revert to the free plan, and keep everything on WordPress.com (maybe making the site private if you don’t want people to see it between now and when you “gift” it to your kids)
It won’t cost you anything, and it will look much better than copying and pasting everything to Word.
Hope that helps. Let me know if I can help you with anything else!

Hello:
I spoke with you a couple of weeks ago about the fact that my WordPress Account had been automatically upgraded on February 17th, 2015 ( WPCHRG.COM 8772733049 ) at a cost of $99.99.
At the time I told you I was not going to continue with the upgrade and you informed me that you would therefore arrange to have the $99 credited to my VISA account and that it would take betweeen 7 – 10 days.
It is now March 17th and I see that no such monies have been credited to my VISA Account.
Would you please look after this immediately as I do not wish to be spending $99 on a product that I can no longer afford.
Thank you so much for your help.

I’m showing that refund processed on February 14th. Could you check your statement around that time?

Thanks for getting back to me. I checked my statement and, apparently, the $99 had been credited back to me on February 23rd, 2015.
I am so sorry for having missed this but appreciate you following up for me.
Have a wonderful day!!
