Second blog & different subscription

  • Hi @bamimages,

Thanks for following up, and I understand why this started to feel more complicated than expected.

    1. Keeping the two blogs separate

Your current approach using categories is the correct way to run two blogs on the same site.

You can keep them independent by:

    1. Creating separate categories (for example Photography and Soul & Spirit).
    2. Assigning each post only to its relevant category.
    3. Using the Blog Posts block on each page and filtering it to show only that category.

That way posts from one topic will not appear on the other blog page.

    2. Category-specific subscriptions

Category-specific subscriptions are possible, but they only work when the Subscribe block is placed inside the page content, not in the widget/sidebar area. Sidebar widgets apply site-wide, which is why your tests still subscribed people to all posts.

    The correct setup is:

    • Add a Subscribe block directly on each blog page.
    • In the block settings, select Preselect Categories and choose the relevant category.

Then visitors who subscribe from that form will only receive posts from that category.

    About existing subscribers

Subscribers who joined through the old site-wide form are subscribed to all posts. They would need to unsubscribe and subscribe again using the category-specific form if they only want updates from one topic.

If you still run into layout issues when placing the Subscribe block beside posts, feel free to share a screenshot and we’ll be happy to help refine the layout. And of course, you can contact us directly via live chat from your Dashboard.
