Second in my export file

  • Unknown's avatar

I recently exported my blog content to a .xml file and on a whim opened it in a text editor.

As I’m the only listed user in my blog I was surprised to see another <wp:wp_author> listed in the file. Well it’s Sheri a.k.a designsimply to be exact. Why is she listed there? *justcurious* :)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Interesting – I can understand a bit if you had problems with your blog and the staff checked something or edited something

I checked a couple of export files from a couple of different blogs – and the one linked to my name has two people with automattic.com email addresses – and two other people that do not – one I know but who has only left one contact for thing – so very odd

Be interesting to see what the staff have to say – the staff does have access to all the blogs here – but to see them as authors that I can’t see as well as two other people is strange

    Hi there,

You guys are right, if one of the Automattic employees have accessed one of your posts and there was a save (or even an autosave) then it will show up in the revision history and then may wind up in your export. Captnmike, the extra address which you’re not sure of, that could have been one of our trials. If you want to provide it I can look into it for you!

I see. Thanks for the explanation. :)

I did some checking and ‘batmoo” is still a staffer

However “justjennifer” is not staff and has never been any type of user on my blog –

So that still does not explain how “justjennifer” is listed in my Users area in the XML file but not on the Users area of my Dashboard – I looked at another blog I admin and there are two users in the Users area of the Dashboard and two users in the XML file – so there is something that does not list staff – OK fine so as to not scare the natives – but that still does not explain justjennifer in any way

    thanks

@Captnmike, which blog is justjennifer showing up in?

  • Unknown's avatar

justjennifer shows up in the captnmike.com blog – the one mapped to my name

    Heya Captnmike,

That one took a bit of looking, but justjennifer sent you some feedback back in 2011. Back then we stored feedback in a different way and so she was included as an author.

You can see the specific feedback right here:

    https://captnmike.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=feedback&author=410833

However – sorry but it does not make full sense – I just looked at my Feedback’s and there are Feedback’s before and after justjennifer also in 2011 and they are not down as Authors. One of the other Feedback’s was only 3 days or so before justjennifer and the next Feedback was about a month after justjennifer – so why don’t I have George and Gene as Authors?

And yes I had looked at that Feedback and had searched my entire XML file – all 2.5 mb & 22,000 + lines to triple check that she had never made a Post.

    thanks for checking

    Hi Mike,

The other users who provided feedback do not appear to have been logged in when they provided the feedback. I checked and verified that at the very least none of them had customized their gravatar and so were displaying the “MonsterID” gravatar, which is a strong indication that none of them were logged in.

So ANY WordPress.COM user that was logged in and sent in a Feedback / Contact Form during some time in 2011 would have been added as a hidden Author?

    thanks
