Second request for help with media resolution.
-
I’ve uploaded before to Nishita at 920 pixels wide with no problem. Just got a new Mac and am using lightroom for photo edits … images are razor sharp but look terrible once uploaded into my post. PLEASE someone out there HELP. Am dead in the water at the moment – don’t know what to do. Thanks in advance – eagerly awaiting reply. D

Why are you uploading images that cannot be displayed on the web properly? The web only displays 72dpi regardless of what resolution you upload. You’ll eat through your storage allowance in no time if you upload images that are not optimized.

Well … what would you suggest? The column diameter of Nishita is 920 pixels … so that’s what I use.
Any help you might provide would be appreciated.
I’m clueless why the beautifully crisp images that Lightroom can produce don’t look all that great in WP? Please provide parameters of you have time.
Thanks. D

Images downsized by WP lose some color and sharpness. So, when you’re interested in best quality on the post, you need to upload images that will show in their original pixel size.
Since you’re talking about the column width, I understand you’re talking about full-width images only. But where on earth did you find the 920? Nishita has four layout options (“blog” or “photoblog”, with or without a sidebar), and none of the four has a 920px main column. The width of the main column in the layout you’re using (photoblog with sidebar) is 774px.
