Second Sidebar to Adelle theme
-
Is there a way I can add a second sidebar to the adelle theme I want one both on the right and left.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Unless it is an option within that particular theme, there is no way to add a sidebar to a WordPress.com site. Have you looked at the theme options?

I have looked in the customising bit, is that where you mean? Is there a way for me to add my own advertisement to the right hand side of my page?

This is a duplicate. You were answered 2 day ago in the first thread here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/second-sidebar-to-adelle-theme?replies=2#post-1846682 Navigate to it please and post there as this thread will be closed.

Yikes! I am so sorry. I got that backwards as you started this new thread here after reading my response in the other thread. Those who provide CSS editing help will provide a definitive answer to your add a sidebar question as soon as they work their way forward to this thread.

remprops was indicating that on WordPress.com there is no straight forward and easy way to add additional sidebars to themes that do not have them built in, as that would require modifications to the templates themselves.
Provided you can attract a Volunteer or Staff member who wants to put time and effort into trying to create a convoluted means of adding one then you have to have the custom design upgrade. Without the upgrade it is not possible.

I am able to customise my blog through CCS coding, not sure what you are asking me to upgrade to I have already upgrade from the basic plan but am not on the business plan. By paying for the custom design how would I be able to add a second sidebar?

I have already upgrade
Thanks for confirming that. All you have to do now is wait for another Volunteer or Staff who work with CSS to respond to you. They will do that after they answer the CSS threads that were posted into the CSS Forum before this one was posted.

It’s not possible to add dynamic content where it didn’t exist before using CSS only, however, you can use CSS to move things that already exist on the page to different locations on the same page.
Positioning can actually get pretty tricky. I would recommend reading this as background: http://css-tricks.com/absolute-positioning-inside-relative-positioning/
I can also help you get started with an example. The following CSS will take one element from the widget area you currently have placed on the left and move it over to the right. The @media rule works to limit the change to large screens only. You should be able to adjust the top and right values at the bottom, to move the widget around until it looks good to you. It could be be a bit tricky to stack additional elements below because of how absolutely positioned elements are fixed onto the page. It’s doable if you avoid variable height widgets for the ones you absolutely position though.
@media screen and (min-width: 900px) { #main { position: relative; } #secondary { position: static; } #main .widget-area { margin-right: 0; } .secondary #primary { margin: 0 -22% 0 0; } #gravatar-2 { position: absolute; top: 22px; right: -50px; width: 224px; } }
