Second site started and questions about dropdown menus

    Hi there,
So I’ve been a user for 5+ years now, but I still really don’t know what I’m doing. I added a second website (Independent Publisher 2 theme) and like my first site, I will have a lot of drop-down menus contained in it. So I’ve started the process of building those menus, and this theme isn’t showing certain pages in a drop-down menu. They all look like parent pages on the home page, and this is going to make for a too busy-looking site very quickly. How can I fix this?

  • Hi –

The best option is to minimize your menu. Regardless of what theme you are using, having a bunch of menu items can quickly overtake the experience of visiting your site.

I’m happy to try and come up with some ideas to help you minimize that menu – please confirm which site you’re working on.

I don’t follow, sadly. I am not a techie. I am working on a website called South Georgia Matmen. The nature of my work requires archiving massive amounts of sports results, by season and by the type of result. I have done this using the Responsive theme on another website, with no issues. That theme was not available to me this time.

I actually just figured this out as far as what to do. Good to go!

  • Glad you’ve got it! For anyone else wondering, here’s a video of how to set up menus, including drop downs:
