    >My question is that the Authors Post page is included at the bottom of my post page, should it be there & is it only visible to me?<

    >>That’s a link to your dashboard – can you provide a link to the page on the public side of your site?<<

  • Ah OK, I think I’m starting to understand your question. :)

Right now, you’ve assigned your blog posts to a page you’ve titled “Authors Post” in the Customizer’s Static Front Page panel.

That means your blog posts are displayed here:

    https://1961mhs.wordpress.com/authors-post/

Unless you add this page to your menu somewhere, though -or link to it from somewhere, or give out the link – visitors won’t be able to access this page.

Let me know if this answers your question!

No, let me put it another way. I have the Authors Post page in the menu. I have the sub-menus with each User Name Author archive post in a drop down from the Authors Post menu. For me, my URL for the User Name Author archive post is https://1961mhs.wordpress.com/author/mhs1961/ . When you view my post it does not stop at the end of my post but continues with the Authors Post page & message. Is this normal? Will this Authors Post page also appear at the bottom of the other users when they publish their Authors post? Or is it because I am the Admin that I can see it?

Do I have the URL correct for me? When I put my User Name at the end of the URL, it didn’t work.

My mistake, I was confusing my User Name & my display name. mhs1961 is my User Name for the website & so I do have the correct URL for the sub-menu.

Please tell me where the followers button is located for my website is so I can enable it?

OK, concerning the Followers button. I don’t understand: I have 3 followers that have signed up as Followers for the website. When I went to Settings, Email Post Changes: (where I found the enable button for the Followers) I also found a list of User Names to check for following and those 3 User Names were not checked in the Followers list. Why were they not checked?

Ah – now I understand. The reason you’re seeing the “Authors Post” on your own author archive is because you are the author of this post. You wrote it under your user account. It will show in that author archive view unless you create another user and assign it to them in the post editor. You would need a second email address to create another user.

Please tell me where the followers button is located for my website is so I can enable it?

That is a widget – you’ll find it in your Customizer‘s Widget area.

If you have additional questions about followers, please post in the general forum, as we’ve now gone pretty far afield from CSS. Thanks!

This is a support question: I have 3 followers that have signed up as Followers for my website. When I went to Settings, Email Post Changes: I also found the list of User Names to check for following and those 3 User Names were not checked in the Followers list. Why were they not checked?

If I check the 3 User Names to Follow my website, will they get duplicate two notice updates every time there is an update to the website?

Email Post Changes is a feature that allows users collaborating on a site to receive an email when an edit has been made to a post. It’s different and not related to being a regular site subscriber. You can read more about that feature here:
