Securing my site
-
This may be a bit of a duh! for you experts but here’s my question – I’ve created my blog and it’s out there, but I was never asked about hosting per se. So is it safe to assume that it’s being hosted at wordpress.com? The only thing I paid for was domain registration and domain mapping.

yes http://musicenthusiast.net/ is hosted on WordPress.COM – hosting is free here by the way and so that is why you were never ask about it – Domain registration and domain mapping do cost –
Note that you can have unlimited visitors and bandwidth in case one of your posts go viral
to pay for the “free” hosting WordPress.COM does occasionally put ads on your site – – you can remove them with the No Ads Upgrade if you don’t like them (I have one site with no ads and the rest I let the ads show up as do some friends that I help with their site here) – – That would cost $99.-/yr for the package (the No Ads can now only be purchased as part of a bundle) – but you get credit for what you have paid for the domain name registration & domain mapping
Hope this helps a bit
