security and back up
-
Hello,
Do you plans cover security? For example, monitoring of hackers and bots, daily virus scans, malware and brute force protection, fixing of any issues? Also, do the plans cover website backups?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Good morning!
Basic site security depends on you! Most important, as you know, is your password. The basics are covered in this support document:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/security/The content hosted here at WordPress is monitored, and the most prevalent types of files that may contain malware are not allowed:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/If you want to back up your site just in case, you have the option of exporting your content. WordPress does back up their content, more information about exporting your own and what WordPress does may be found here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/If you are worried about getting a trojan from something here at WordPress, I’m a volunteer without access to their internal workings but since WordPress serves many hundred million blogs they likely have a robust protective schema in place!
Of course as you well know it is important to keep your own antivirus/malware up to date.
Hope this helped some!

Hi there,
All WordPress.com sites have the same security and backup protection by default. You don’t need a plan for those features.
The only way someone can gain access to your site, is if they gain access to a computer where you or another user you added to your site left a logged in browser session open or if they gain access to your password somehow.
As long as you and all other contributors on your site keep good browsing and password habits and use two-factor authentication on your WordPress.com and email accounts (other accounts as well, but especially those two) it is highly unlikely that someone will be able to gain access to your account. I’m not aware of it having happened before.
You can find more information at the links @dave2swords provided.
