security certificate alerts

One of my readers repeatedly gets a “security certificate alert” when she clicks on “comments” for my blog. Despite clicking “yes” to “Do you want to continue?”, it won’t clear until she does it over and over. Any suggestions?

  • Hi there,

Are you speaking of the comments link that appears at the bottom of each post on the front page? On a particular post, or on all posts?

Your site has been using https since we rolled it out in the middle of last year, and it’s working correctly on all links on your site for me. If it’s happening on a specific post, it could be there is a link or embedded media in a comment that is not being served over https, but otherwise the most likely cause is that the reader’s browser is not correctly recognising the SSL certificate on your site.

If it’s the latter there’s not really much we can do about it, and I can’t even begin to guess at an answer without knowing exactly which browser and browser version they’re using.
