Security Code and Password Issues

  I use two step authentification for my blog. This morning I noticed that there were a stream of WordPress.com security codes sent to my phone which I did not request. Thinking that someone may be trying to access my account I decided to change my password via personal settings on my dashboard. The password was accepted but strangely WP didn’t require a second verification of the new password. To check my password status I tried to access security settings again and was asked for a verification code. I typed in the code and my screen went blank and a forbidden message was displayed. How do I verify my password and check the security of my account hasn’t been compromised?
