Security for blog
-
I have a WordPress blog for my 11 y/o son. It’s a Kids Travel Blog (MylesTheExplorer.wordpress.com). 2 questions: 1. does WP strip the metadata from all the pictures? Since there are kid pictures, if WP does not automatically do that, I am going to need to do so. 2. Since this a kid focused blog, how can I be sure that no inappropriate ad will pop up? And, where can I find exactly what ads pop up on the site? I’ve seen a few come up when I’ve looked at the blog on my mobile device.
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For your first question: when you first upload a photo, WordPress will automatically create some copies of various different sizes (for thumbnail purposes, etc). These copies will not have the metadata copied. However, your original picture will also be stored, and *still* contain the metadata. So, you might want to strip the metadata yourself before uploading.

For the second question: I’ve read it a few times here that WordPress.com carefully select the ads they display so no appropriate ones are displayed. However, if you want to be completely sure, you can purchase the No Ads upgrade:

Also note that by the Terms of Service, WP.com users must be 13 or over. They will not take extraordinary measures to protect people who do not abide by the ToS.
