Security issue

There’s been a few articles where random bits of copy (that reads like an ad) and a link, has been added without anyone’s knowledge. When I go onto the back end of WordPress and look at the most recent revisions, the copy isn’t there and totally not visible but on the actual article on the website for readers, the copy and link comes up so it’s really difficult to see how this has been added in and track who/when this happened. I’ve run a few security tests and everything is coming up fine but the plugin settings are set so that no-one can edit anyone else’s work and this was definitely not something that I added in. I’d really appreciate some help or suggestions if this has happened to anyone else.
