"security issue" error for users trying to join blog

Hello,
I have extended invitations to users so that they can become authors on my blog.
Four of the 11 users who have been extended invites have not been able to accept them and successfully become authors of the blog. Every time they attempt to accept my invitation, they get a white screen that says a “security issue” is preventing them from becoming a user on the blog.
I have tried deleting the initial invites and sending new ones, and they have tried to accept the invite from multiple computers and multiple browsers.
Any insight? Thanks in advance.

Usernames are hartdi2013, hindste, mulderaa, and alanamoody5.

These users have been invited as ‘followers’. I’ve just resent the invitation to them.
If they receive an error, could you please ask them to send us a screenshot of the page where you’re seeing this? They can upload the screenshot to their blog’s media library.

Thanks, kardotim. I’ve instructed my students to attempt to accept the invitation; I’ll let you know ASAP if there are still issues.

Hi kardotim—at least one of my students is still reporting an issue uploading.
I’ve added a screenshot to the ucidigicomp.wordpress.com media library; the file is titled “ScreenshotForTroubleshooting.jpg”

Thank you for the screenshot. It seems like either the browser or Outlook is preventing them from going to that link. Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Google Chrome?
Otherwise please ask if they could right-click on the accept invite link, copy the link address and paste it into the browser’s admin bar.
Note that they can also become a blog follower once they are logged into WordPress.com, visit your blog, and click on the ‘Follow’ button in the admin bar.

Yes, they still encounter the problem in Chrome and Firefox.
I have asked them to try pasting the link directly into the broweser, and that did not fix the problem either.
And I was hoping for them to become authors of the blog, not simply followers. I need for them to be able to contribute posts this semester.
Any other advice? Thanks!

It’s possible that something is blocking the invite on your local (school) network, perhaps because too many requests from the same location. You can contact your local system/network administrator to help you with that if needed. Otherwise you can let the user accept the invite from home.
For now I’ve added the 4 users as authors to your blog :)
