Security on our website
-
This is probably a bit of an odd situation, but I am hoping you can help me. We had hired someone to develop our website. They did not follow through and well beyond our agreed time frame we were still a long way out from completion. So we finally pulled the plug. When I did so, I removed him as an administrator and as a user and changed all passwords. He just now contacted me and mentioned he can regain access “through the server.” Is this true? I have proof I own the domain, even though he originally set up the wordpress site. I just need to know he can’t somehow come in and change things or somehow harm my site. Thanks for any insights you can offer me.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There are several ways to access a web site and WordPress install – if you did not take away his FTP access and any other server privileges he can probably cause you a lot of grief – on the good side – he could go to jail for that and you could probably win a lawsuit for his destroying your site – but that take quite a while
But you need to get better guidance from the folks at WordPress.ORG – also contact your host and registrar and make sure the person has any privileges revoked
The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.
This site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/
The forum at WordPress.ORG is not connected to WordPress.COM so you will need to open an account at .ORG if you do not already have one. You may use the same email at WordPress.ORG as you do at WordPress.COM.
For more on the difference: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you are asking for help with a WordPress.COM site then we need a link to that site to give you accurate help.

Thank you for your response. I do not believe my website is wordpress.org. I believe it is wordpress.com. My site is http://www.pastblessingsfarm.com. I will be honest in that I do not understand the whole concept of FTP. He started the site, so I do not even know how I take control of it. Which is why I hired it in the first place, but sadly, he did not follow through. How do I take back his FTP access? I did change all pastwords and have emails going to me. I am sorry to be so dumb . . . I have been forced into being my own website designer and I sort of feel like I am trying to speak a foreign language with no lessons! Your help (and patience) is so appreciated.

You have a WordPress.ORG install – see above for the differences – you seem to be hosted on CyrusOne – you need to get help from the folks at WordPress.ORG or hire someone to at least secure your web site

Hosting provider: CyrusOne
Your Registrar seems to be Godaddy
