Security Question – Registering 15 participants simultaniosly with 1 IP-Number
-
I have a question about security restrictions: Can multiple people simultaneously log into wordpress.com if they use the same IP number? Does it work?
Background:
I teach a group of people in a classroom. I want to show the group how to create blogs with WordPress. I want to proceed as follows: Participants should register at WordPress.com. Then sign up. Then the participants will create their blog. The Internet connection is via a router. This router communicates via one IP number. Is it possible that 15 participants may register at wordpress.com in parallel with the same IP number? Or does your security settings prevent this?
Do you have any idea how I can work around the problem?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There are some anti spam measures that sometimes trip up teachers and their class.
I have flagged this for staff attention – they have been able to help in the past
In the past one suggestion has been for students to register over a period of time or as a homework assignment
Sorry can’t remember if there is a problem with existing accounts logging into a blog in very short order.
Some teachers use EduBlogs in their classroom http://edublogs.org/
A different system but uses WordPress.ORG software so same ease of use as here

It is possible for more than one person to log in with the same IP address, but there are limits.
If you run into issues with too many simultaneous logins, please let me know.

You can use TOR to change your IPs. It’s free, but you’ll probably need to get the permission of your IT department to install it. It sends sysadmins into fits.

We can work with educational institutions to fix the IP limit, if it’s an issue. No need to go elsewhere or install anything extra.
