Security setting

  How can I change my security settings to ‘Hidden’ when I have already set it to ‘Private’? The whole security settings section is greyed out, effectively stopping me from changing the setting.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi,

  Are you referring to the Privacy Settings on this page, https://wordpress.com/settings/general/deborah0749455.wordpress.com? I’ve never seen a the Privacy Settings section greyed out on a WordPress.com site and can’t think of a reason why that would be the case. Is the site in a Business Plan account?

  It seems you haven’t published your site yet. So no one can see it.

  Hi there,

  All new sites are set to private by default, meaning only the owner and people you specifically invite can see it.

  If you want it accessible to anyone with a direct link, but not listed in search engines (hidden), you’ll need to launch it first using the button in security settings, and then set it to hidden.
