Security warnings / errors

  I have several users sending me messages that they are either getting security warnings or their Android Browser refuses to load my blog.

  The error, that I have been able to replicate says:

  Security warnings
  There is a problem with the website’s security certificate

  The security certificate presented by this website is not
  issued by a trusted certificate authority.

  What is causing this error? I was told on occasion it was seen in the past but now it is constant. Like I noted, some android browsers refuse to allow the page to load.

  Whenever you share your site’s address, make sure you are using HTTPS version. All WordPress.com sites are served over a secure server.

  I do share the link properly. So far, most of the users reporting problems are getting the message or the site won’t load seem to be using an Android based device like a tablet, phone or Android enabled Chromebook. I have replicated the error on an old Samsung Android tablet with a couple of browsers. Some work fine, some get the security warning and two refuse to load the site.

  I’m sorry that’s happening to visitors. Know that your site is not compromised. All of WordPress.com’s certificates are in current good standing. This is an issue that has popped up before for a number of different reasons for different users. It can help our troubleshooting if we know the following:

  – What information can you supply about yours and/or other’s Android versions and browsers used? You can find the information by loading the following website within any of those devices: https://supportdetails.com/

  – What’s the link that you’re sending to friends?

  Hi there,

  Can you please give the exact link that you’re entering that is leading to that error?

  In Chrome for Android I tested typing “cliffswinepicks.com”, “https://cliffswinepicks.com”, “http://cliffswinepicks.com”, and “cliffswinepicks.wordpress.com”, and they all correctly opened your site at https://cliffswinepicks.com without any warnings for me.

  I also checked the SSL certificate on your site and everything is in order there.
