Several questions: 1) when writing a post, the instant overlap of the side links is very annoying whenever you get close to the left margin. Any way to disable that? 2) When I get a ‘like’ the msg tells me what post its referring to, but with a ‘follow’ I don’t know what post or page they where on when they hit ‘follow.’ Any way to determine that? 3) if I want to have a permanent link to a website that is not a wordpress blog, how do I do that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. I’m not sure what you are referring to.
2. Follows mean that they are following the entirety of your blog. It means anything you post (not pages though) will show up in their reader and/or be emailed to them to read. Because it is not specific to any one post, there is no need for WordPress to tell you where they were.
3. There are several ways to add links. Judging by your site, it appears that you are wanting to add them to your sidebar since you already have links embedded in your posts.
Here are your options:
Links Widget
Add a Blogroll Link
Use a text widget -
Hi there,
1) when writing a post, the instant overlap of the side links is very annoying whenever you get close to the left margin. Any way to disable that?
I’m also not sure what issue you’re describing here. Can you make a screenshot of that overlap issue you described?
You can upload screenshots to your Media Library under Media > Add New in your dashboard, or you can use an online service like Snaggy. That way I can take a look and get a better idea of that issue you’re running into.

Hello, support providers, sorry it took so long to respond. Re the “side links that overlap,” I mean when you’re on an new page to create a post before you upload it, all along the left margin is the extended menu of features and such for WP. Its white characters on a black background. I’m just saying when you’re typing on the left margin, its very easy to have the cursor slip over into that area, which then instantly enlarges to cover up whatever you were typing. No big deal; just annoying.
Re getting “likes” on posts, those are great and I know what post they liked. I’m just saying it would be nice to know what post viewers are on when they hit the “follow” button. WP would have that info, but they would have to write new code provide the source page. Again, not super-crucial, but a “would be nice.”
Re adding a web link to a sidebar for a site other than WP; thanks! Now I know how… Thanks to you both.
