Good morning, my name is Lissa Miller and I have been tasked with working on the church website altusfpc.org by Mr. Meier and Altus First Presbyterian Church.

    We have three (3) questions?

Is it possible for us to upgrade this service to Premium plan for $96.00 annually?
Will we be capable of deleting the old site and build a new site?
Will we lose the domain name altusfpc.org hosted by HOSTEK?
I am new to working with a website and after careful research I believe this would be the best for us moving forward. The site hasn’t been updated in 11 years. Time for a change.
After we receive your reply, the committee that oversees this section of our ministry will take it under advisement and they will make a decision.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

    Yours,

    Lissa Miller

  • Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with HOSTEK.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

With that said, you can definitely move the site to us by following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/ and then of course purchase one of our paid plans for it.

We have two ways to use a domain you already own with a site here at WordPress.com:

Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

All paid plans include one free domain registration, transfer, or mapping.
