See Software I installed on my MAC

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi! Earlier this morning, I spent quite some time installing the WordPress software on my MacBook Air. I’m trying to get WordPress so I can write webpages without having to upload them on a host. Now, I’m having trouble accessing the software I installed. Would you mind telling me where I can find it? The software worked perfectly when I first installed it. But from the second I exited my browser, opened it back up, and tried to find the WordPress software, I could not find it.

Thank you so much for taking the time!

    Hi there,

Based on what you’re saying, it seems you’re using the open-source WordPress.org software. They have a different support forum which can be found at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/.

These forums are for WordPress.com hosted websites only. If you want to know the difference between the two, you can find more information in this document:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    Best regards.

  • Hey Jeff,
Can you clarify if you’re trying to use the WordPress Mac app to write at jeffsbookofman.home.blog without a separate hosting company apart from WordPress.com, or if you downloaded files from WordPress.org to run on your computer like a server emulator?

The WordPress app for Mac sounds a little more like what you’re asking about. If it’s been installed, it’s in your Applications on your computer.
