  Hi, I am trying to see if I want a WordPress site instead of staying with squarspace and get an email from you saying I could use the seedlet theme for free but when I actually want to work in it, it says I have to upgrade? What am I doing wrong?

  Hey there, paid plans help cover our costs for infrastructure and staffing, so we do feature those in signup and launch flows.

  We also have free plans that will give you a .wordpress.com subdomain (or one of our other free subdomains). These will also show ads, as the advertising helps offset our costs.

  Paid plans remove ads, allow you to use a custom domain, and provide access to direct support. Plus they have several other handy features, depending on the plan you choose. You can compare all plans here:
