Seedlet Theme Headings
-
Seedlet is a new entry in theme catalogue, but it got some problems. During testing, I encountered following two issues.
1. Theme’s notfound/404 page body isn’t within main container. It is pushed to left.
2. At least H1 and H2 headings should be larger. When it comes to featured images, it feels like words are lost into void. It’d be great if theme is improved in timely manner.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there @liberallypeppered, I’m seeing a centered 404 here:
https://seedletdemo.wordpress.com/404Could you send a link to what you’re seeing?
And thanks for the feedback on the headers. So far what I’m seeing seems pretty balanced to me, but if you have a link to that as well I can send along a screenshot as feedback.

Hi @supernovia,
Thank you very much for the reply.
It took me a little time to assemble a couple of links for you. Here is the website link for you to see how small a heading looks like when featured images are used. Take it just an example:
https://liberallypeppered.com/2020/10/15/imitation/Here is one more link with a different size of a feature image:
https://liberallypeppered.com/2020/10/06/hello-world/If the design team thinks this is the best then it’d be user who’ll have to stick to a specific size of featured image. As you see hello-world post header looks slightly better than the Imitation post.
As this site is under construction, you’ll find that the 404 message is out of the main container when user visits an empty category. Try to visit any category available in top or bottom menu.
One more link: https://liberallypeppered.com/category/books/
I hope this helps.

Hi there,
1. Theme’s notfound/404 page body isn’t within main container. It is pushed to left.
I’m not able to replicate this issue on the theme demo page, for example, https://seedletdemo.wordpress.com/info
Nor do I see this issue on a test site running the self-hosted version of this theme like yours: https://coresandbox.mystagingwebsite.com/info
Your site also doesn’t show the same text for the 404 message, which tells me you’ve customized that message somehow on your site. Whatever you did to customize that message is what’s breaking this, so that’s what you need to look at to fix this. If you’re using a plugin to do this, please contact support for that plugin directly for help with this.
We’re not able to help with issues caused by customizations to the theme that we don’t control.
2. At least H1 and H2 headings should be larger. When it comes to featured images, it feels like words are lost into void.
The heading size is a design choice by the theme developer. If you’d like them to be a different size, you can use the additional CSS feature built into WordPress to override the theme’s design, and set your own text sizes for those headings. This is not a change we’re going to make from the theme’s side.
Just for future reference, the forum you’re posting in now is for sites hosted on WordPress.com.

Hi.
Just for future reference, the forum you’re posting in now is for sites hosted on WordPress.com.
Support for the self-hosted version of Seedlet that you’re using on your site can be found at https://wordpress.org/support/theme/seedlet/
Let me clear this, I never asked for help for the any particular site. I believe you went through the discussion before replying. Website help was never the intention, and it was a plain theme talk. I know which platform I am using for this discussion. You can see that I am a member since 2016. I am actually WordPress user since 2010. Anyway, let get this done.
I’m not able to replicate this issue on the theme demo page, for example, https://seedletdemo.wordpress.com/info
Nor do I see this issue on a test site running the self-hosted version of this theme like yours: https://coresandbox.mystagingwebsite.com/info
Let me help you to replicate this:
Create a new category and access it https://yourdomain.com/category/freshcategory/ let me know if you still don’t see what I have shown you.Your site also doesn’t show the same text for the 404 message, which tells me you’ve customized that message somehow on your site.
I customise sites daily, and this particular site hasn’t received any extra ordinary customisation that might lead code to break. Anyway, let’s make it short, try to access https://liberallypeppered.com/404 and confirm if you still see a different.
Now try to access any given link before and see the message. Do you find any difference?
I hope I have cleared my stand. I am confirming again that I was not here for website help. I read about Seedlet on WPtavern website and chose to test it. I am confident that my time and effort are not wasted.
If you’re using a plugin to do this, please contact support for that plugin directly for help with this.
I’ll check what’s wrong with Jetpack. Thank you for highlighting this. If you have time do visit this 404 URL https://liberallypeppered.com/journal/fsdgss as well.

To be clear, there are often differences between the themes at WordPress.com and the themes at WordPress.org due to compatibility requirements, which is why my colleague directed you to https://wordpress.org/support/theme/seedlet/ since you are on a WordPress.org site using Seedlet.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
Create a new category and access it https://yourdomain.com/category/freshcategory/ let me know if you still don’t see what I have shown you.
I can confirm that on the WordPress.com version of the theme though following your steps, so I have filed a bug report which you can follow at https://github.com/Automattic/themes/issues/2611

Thanks for reminding me. I had really forgotten it.

I wish I had not reported you this. You guys just ate my brain. WP.org this WP.com that… Do you get any bonus for repeating this to people while they are pointing you to a different issue with the help of self-hosted WP. Are you a bot? Or do you do it deliberately? I didn’t want to install it on the only site I had on WP.com because of some other reasons.
I only brought an external website for testing purpose. ONLY FOR TESTING PURPOSE… SORRY! CAPSLOCK BUTTON JUST GOT BROKEN.

I don’t know why you think I’m a bot, or why you’re upset about the bug being confirmed and filed.
I was able to identify the issue you reported per your steps and filed a bug report for our developers to fix. Bots don’t do that, people do, I’m a person.
You don’t need to do anything except wait for a fix now.
If I’m missing something, please kindly let me know.
