Seeing comments on posts/ and recent posts on my homepage

    Hi

    I’m pretty sure I am missing something and there is an easy answer but I have a couple of questions about

    • Seeing comments on my posts
    • Seeing recent posts on my homepage
    1. I have a recent posts block on my homepage. In edit it looks like empty posts saying “Title here” etc On the live site only one post shows up even though I have 2 published. There are 2 when I go to the actual blog page from the navigation link
    2. Comments. I have added a comments block to each post (I somehow deleted it from the template!) but the one post (so far) I have commented on the comment doesn’t show on the post but my dashboard says I have one comment

    Ok, so it looks like there’s a Blog Post block nested in the Query Loop block, which is why this is happening.

    To explain, a Blog Post Block shows, blog posts in a predefined layout, whereas with the Query Loop block, you can design your own layout and where things sit (for example, title, excerpt, date, featured image…etc.) – you wouldn’t use them both in tandem. The Query loop block is good for archive pages (like tags and categories).

    I would recommend in this in this instance to move the heading block, and blog post block outside of the Query loop block and removing the query loop block altogether.

    I’ve gone ahead and added this for you, and created this screenshot on how this can be added:

    I can now see the comment posted.

    Out of curiosity, what plans do you have for your website? Perhaps I can offer some more advice on how best to achieve those website goals!
