Why don’t my posts appear in searches? I checked and all my posts have a total of less than 15 tags and categories
In Reading under Site Visibility I’ve checked allow search engines to index this site. Why doesn’t my site show up on the WordPress search on the main page?
I searched for topics I posted about and it says “nobody’s posted about this, be the first”
I searched for one of tagsWhy isn’t it showing up?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The WordPress.com search engine indexes post, pages, and comments content (body text). Unless entered as text in those contents, blog name, post titles, and post/comment author names are not indexed. http://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpresscom-search/

All reasons for non-appearance of posts on Topics pages can be found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/#missing-posts As those reasons do not appear to ones that relate to your posts I’ve tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

No. They are not required at all for SEO purposes. More to the point is the fact that Google does not use the keywords meta tag in web ranking and has not done so since at least 2009.
See Matts Cutts of Google state that in the videos in this post Revisiting Keywords and Tags http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/03/01/revisiting-keywords-and-tags/ Also note he states that these days days search engines pay more attention to your keywords in your content than they do to your keywords in Tags/Categories. Note also that Google’s algorithms can detect whether or not the keyword tags you assign to posts appear in the text of the post. -
Thanks, that exactly answers my question. I am tremendously impressed with the helpfulness – and especially the speed of response, under five minutes!

Thanks for your help. I’ve looked at these articles. I know my posts aren’t private because people are looking at my posts and following my blog.
But after I published some of my posts and tried searching for them to see if they were public using their tags I wasn’t able to find them. It said that no one had written about the subject and I could be the first.I edited the tags waited a couple of days and searched again but I still couldn’t find them.

@ thebrain786, only posts from the past 60 days will show up in the Reader Topics, which explains why the posts you mentioned aren’t appearing there. However, your recent posts are appearing as expected. If you have any questions about this, please let me know!

Thanks.
I was wondering because it kept saying no one had written about the topic and didn’t say anything about 60 days
