Seeing only excerpts on Reader

I’m wondering if there is any way of seeing the full blog entry in Reader, at least for bloggers who don’t much care about how people come to read their entry, so long as they do read it?

I have to say that I don’t use Reader all that much, because the excerpts are way too short and because of the onerous “click through” requirement. I would much prefer to see what someone is writing about, then, if I am interested, I would be happy to go to that user’s blog to read further.

I came across the following conversation when trying to see what is currently available. What I think some of the commenters here miss, is that, at least in my case, if it’s just a short excerpt, there is a near 0% chance that I will go access their blog entry. It’s only from seeing what the content is about that I would be persuaded to read more.

Ideally WordPress would be able to show how many people have read the Reader entry. Perhaps that would help.

If people are precious about showing excerpts only, then I don’t have a problem with that. But maybe for the rest of us, the Reader would drive new connections and new subscribers. It’s a feature I would love to see. (Wasn’t it like this some time back?)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I think excerpts are there to encourage the reader to actually visit and the blog, because visitors are worth more than views. So if you come across a post like that, the author must want you to visit the site. Atleast, that’s what I want my followers to do, instead of arbitrary liking without clicking.
