Seeing when a domain I want expires and if I can buy it.

    I am looking to see if I can purchase the domain with the name https://venturequest.org/
    It hasn’t been updated since 2-18 so I was wondering when it would expire so I can purchase it.

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

    Hi there,

    In this regard, you may contact your web host as WordPress.com has no control over it.

    The site ‘https://venturequest.org’ runs on open-source WordPress (from WordPress.org), which is hosted by Unified Layer, whereas this forum is dedicated to WordPress.com-hosted sites.

    They’re very similar, but two separate things.
    https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

    If you look at a “Whois” you’ll see that domain has been registered continually since 2009 so I’d be surprised if it wasn’t renewed again prior to the next expiry date.

    Hi there,

    Unfortunately the expiry date isn’t set in stone.

    I can see from a lookup that the domain is due to expire on 30th January 2023.
    As mentioned though, his isn’t a guarantee that the domain won’t then be renewed.
    There is also usually a ‘grace period’ depending on the domain registrar.

    I realise this isn’t a definitive answer but hopefully it answers your query :)
