Every theme has a detailed theme description page with set up instructions like this one https://wordpress.com/themes/superhero/ and a live demo site like this one https://superherodemo.wordpress.com/

re: the front page error message found on every new .wordpress.com blog

There is nothing wrong with your blog.

By default, the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post, not a page, the error message will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

For creating a post in the New editor see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/#publish-a-new-post
For creating a page in the new editor see here

For editing in the new editor see:

On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the step by step Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/

The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page.

A blog is a website. The difference between blog and website is simply structure and semantics.

A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. As the posts are frequently updated and appear on the front page of the site it’s very attractive to search engines.

What most people call a website is merely a page based site that functions as a one-way noticeboard. As the structure is page based and as pages are for static content that rarely changes, and as pages do not have RSS feeds, and as others do not backlink to pages, it is not as attractive to search engines as a post based blog structured site is.

Any WordPress blog can be restructured from being post based to being page based – no upgrade required. For greater clarity read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/

    Dearest Timethief
I want to thank you for your kind assistance to my problem I am having trying to get my New Theme to look like the Superhero Theme.
Is why I had choosen Superhereo theme, because the over all layout fits perfect displying Graphic Design business.

From reviewing your notes understanding the difference from a Blog, from Static page. I am see is not the problem, the problem is the Front Full Banner I am trying to place in the Front Are at a Full Width Bleed from Side to Side
Using the Dimensions, that was given in Superhero’s instructions 480 × 150 pixels.

Which is not displaying at full size Width Bleeding from Side to Side, the Way Superhero Themes is showing

I have tried in the Appearance Customize Panel loading my Front Banner threw the Custom Header and Background section threw Superhero’s instructions.
Superhero features a Custom Header that can be set under Appearance → Header.
The background can also be customized under Appearance → Background.

But instead displays my Banner inside a small Box on top of my Site Name Title in the Gray Bar Section

I than tried loading my Front Banner in the Blog Post, which I had tried threw the Feature Image section in the Blog setup
And also inside the Blog Page

Still my Front Banner doesn’t want to load in the Front Banner section at a Full Banner Size Bleeding Side to Side..

    1. Which is why I am Stompted either Superheros instructions are missing a Step
    2. Or in the Blog Setup, if there are settings I have to set in the Format Section.

    3. Or my WordPress Version is not up to date
    4. I am running a Mac operating System Version 10.9.5

I will be looking forward to your configures to what steps I am missing, in loading my Front Banner to Display at Full Side to Side Bleed the way Superhero’s shows In their Theme Setup

Thanking you Timethief for your kind responses with your support
Looking forward to your foresight what could be the problem and if there are any steps I am missing

    Sincerely

    Jesse Serrato
