Seeking help creating about and pages

If someone can help me with two questions that might (I’m not sure) be related, I would appreciate it so much. I have just started a blog. I’ve made one post. I would like to say what it is about. I’ve written something and tried to publish it. But I do not see it on my site. Maybe along similar lines, I’d like to create additional pages. Similarly, I follow what I think the steps are but get nothing. Again, any help would really be appreciated.

The theme you are using does not have top navigation. Put the pages widget into the sidebar and the pages will appear there. Since this will be the first widget you are putting into the sidebar, what you are now seeing in the sidebar is a default sample display to let you know what it will look like. They will disappear when you add the pages widget, but all you have to do is add in the other widgets that you want. What is currently showing is the search, category, archives and meta widgets. Just add those back in, or whatever widgets you want to show in the sidebar. To do this go to appearance > widgets.

You will want the Recent Posts widget and the Archives widget as well. Those are necessary for navigation.
