seeking the radiance of the theme Harmonic; but with freedom

  First I want to say that the theme Harmonic is awesome. I love the scrolling effect with the full width background images.

  I was hoping to use that front page as my blog and use a different background image for each new blog post I make. I invite you to stop for a just a second and imagine what that experience would be like. ..scrolling down through awesome post after awesome post, with the visual effect, ..full-width background image after full-width background image..

  It turns out that the radiant front page of the Harmonic theme is set up for only 5 sections.

  I’m looking for a theme that is like the Harmonic front page, but with the ability to use it freely; as a blog, or whatever you like.

  I’m so in love with the Harmonic front page, that my heart is set on having such a theme, and so at this point I’m open to any way of having this; -whether it be a premium wordpress theme, a third-party theme and I host it somewhere, or something other than wordpress.

  Any info and/or suggestions are much appreciated.

  Free themes that fit this description include the following:

  • Intergalactic 2
  • Radcliffe
  • Eighties

  You might also like the premium themes Full Frame and Awesome, which are each $75.

  I’m looking for a theme that is like the Harmonic front page, but with the ability to use it freely; as a blog, or whatever you like.

  On every WordPress.com site, you must either assign the blog page or a static page as the front page. On some themes, a static page may include dynamic elements (e.g. recent posts) either by default or if you assign a certain template to the page.

  I’m not aware of any themes that would allow you to have the look of Harmonic, Intergalactic 2, Radcliffe, Eighties, etc., and allow you to freely choose the type of content (posts, pages, projects, etc.) which displays over the scrolling background images on the front page.

  Correction:

  The “Eighties” theme, on closer inspection, does not fit your description.
