seeking wordpress guru

Hi, people.
My name is Bram. Despite having worked for two internet companies, I know very little about web design except for what I do and don’t like as a surfer.
I have an idea for a social networking site that would be similar to MySpace in that I want users to be able to create profiles with pictures, video, audio and text.
Since I know so little and learn best by having at least SOME interaction with a more knowledgeable person, I’m hoping to find someone on here just to answer the occasional question by email (the first will be: given what I’ve told you, where should I start reading?). I would not expect this to take up a great deal of your time as I can occupy myself for awhile once I know what direction to move in.
I am willing to pay the right person some amount of money, either at once or piecemeal, to be determined as we firm up the details. Obviously I want someone who knows as much about WordPress as possible.
Anyway, that should be enough to get a conversation started. Anyone think they might be able to help me out…?
