sela: featured image on blog page won't display

Hi,
I set up a blog page in the sela theme with a featured image but when I display it, the image doesn’t display. I tried it 2 different way; as a page and as a custom menu linked to the blog slug. Neither of them display the feature image.

Please provide the URL of the page you are referring to. Note that Quick Specs section of the Sela theme guide says,
The featured image on the front page and on pages works best with images at least 1180 wide.

The url of my blog page is:
http://hearttotheartlomilomi.wordpress.com/blog/The same thing is happening on my testimonial page. I specified a featured image in the customizer > testimonials, but it doesn’t display on my testimonial page.
My testimonial image is 1180 (it’s the one from the sela demo). I have to find a larger image for my blog page, but for now, I just want to understand how to get the image to display.

How do you create a featured image? Are you using the featured image module found by default in the right sidebar of post, page, or testimonial editor?

I’m sorry. So you’ve used the customizer to add a featured image. Have you tried adding a featured image with the module I mentioned above?

Yes, I tried it both ways.
On my blog page, I added the featured image on the “pages” form in the lower right hand corner.
For my testimonial page, I added the featured image in the customizer. When I go into “pages” and select either my blog page or my testimonial page, my featured image shows in the lower right hand corner. When I go into the customizer, the featured image is also displayed.
I tried to get my testimonial page to work by using 2 different methods. In Menus, I created a custom menu for Testimonials and linked it to http://hearttotheartlomilomi.wordpress.com/testimonial/
I also set it up as a “page” in Menus.
When I go to my website, the Testimonials that has a custom menu shows my testimonial but no image. The Testimonials that I created as a page shows the image but no testimonial.Joy

I also set it up as a “page” in Menus.Custom menus are only links to pages, posts, testimonials, etc., and these links have no effect on what content displays on the destination URL.
The correct URL for your dedicated testimonials archive page is http://hearttotheartlomilomi.wordpress.com/testimonial/. Because only one testimonial archive page is possible, the extension of the second page you mention, “testimonial-2,” makes that a static page. It won’t display any testimonials.
I’m a volunteer and have no access to your administrative pages, so it’s difficult to figure out precisely what’s causing the failure of your featured images to appear. I’ll tag the topic for staff attention.

I’ve found a glitch relevant to at least one of the issues you’ve encountered. On a test site with Sela activated, when I change the title of a testimonial archive page that has a featured image previously assigned and saved at Customize > Testimonials, the featured image disappears on the visible page, though it’s still present at Customize > Testimonials. I reproduced the effect three or four times. To get the image to appear again I removed it and reloaded it.

Thank you! That solved the featured image problem with my Testimonial page. I tried to do the same thing on my Blog page by editing my blog page, removing the featured image and then selecting it again, but it didn’t work. So now, my only question is: How do I put a featured image on my Blog page using the Sela theme?

The Blog page in Sela prominently displays the featured images for your posts, so there isn’t a way to set a featured image for that page.
