  the sela footer widget only allows a url to be added; how can i upload an image from my computer?

  Not true. There are three columns of footer widget areas in the Sela theme, each of which can be stuffed with countless widgets selected from among the available widgets, or with user-created text widgets.

  how can i upload an image from my computer?

  The easiest way to upload an image to use in a text widget or an image widget is via Media > Add New. This is also a good place to obtain image URLs of previously uploaded images to be used in a text or image widget.
