Sela: Remove white box overlay on static homepage

  In searching but only finding ways to hide the white box and text overlay via customizing the CSS.
  .hero-container-inner article {
  display: none;
  }

  Customizing CSS does not seem to be an option in a WordPress.com site, or am I missing it? Is it possible to remove it here?
