Sela Theme

Hi, I’ve activated the Sela theme on my site Beginner Backpackers. The theme looks completely different to the demo. The demo includes images on the front page, whereas mine includes the full blog posts. How can I change this?
    Thanks,
    Harriet

  • Hello @hkendo,

Once you activate the Sela theme, the default settings display your blog page as homepage. However, you can change that and set the theme with a Front Page Template as it appears on the demo by following those steps:

    – Create a new page or edit a page you already created, and assign it the Front Page Template from the Page Attributes box.
    – From your Dashboard, go to Settings>Reading and set the ‘Front page display’ option to “A static page.”
    – Select the page you edited on the first step as “Front page,” then choose another page as “Posts page” to display your blog posts.

It looks like you’re using The Canape theme at the moment, but you can always change your mind and re-activate the Sela theme by hitting the Activate button on its theme presentation page.

I hope this is all clear. If you get stuck at any step, just let me know and I’ll be glad to help. Cheers!

    Hi,

I am having the same problem – I have managed to set static page for front page, but cannot find the Settings>Reading menu in order to create a ‘posts page’.

    Please can you advise?

    Thanks!

  • Hello there!

Providing the site you’re referring is thegothicdaisy.wordpress.com, you should be able to access the Reading options from the following address: https://thegothicdaisy.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php.

Let me know how it goes! If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to ask :)
