Sela theme – add button on front page
-
I have removed the floating text box on the front page of my sela themed website.
Is it possible to place a custom button in place of the previous text box?
Many thanks folks

Hi ashrouten,
The Sela theme displays whatever content you have added to your homepage in the white box. You can find a more detailed explanation of how the theme’s front page works here: https://wordpress.com/theme/sela
You can add a link into your front page content, and then transform that link into a button with custom CSS. You can learn more about creating links here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/links/
Let us know once you’ve added the link to the front page and we’ll take a look to help you with the CSS.

Thanks Elly, I’ve managed to add a button but wan’t to remove the white background and move it up the top left of the picture. Any tips on the CSS code to do this?

I currently see a blue button with no white background at the top left of the image. Was there something else you wanted to change with the button?

Yeah, if you look closely the button is actually sat on top of the front page content box, so there are a few white bits on the rounded corners.
Also as I’ve tried to position it so the button and content box sit over each other using relative position, when using a tablet or smaller screen the button doesn’t resize. Any ideas?

It looks like you managed to figure this out. Nice one!
I’m no longer seeing any white background around the buttons, and the buttons are resizing on tablets and mobiles.
