sela theme and featured images

    I understand now what you mean regarding single posts, and portfolio projects, but don’t know what you mean with respect to pages.

    Pages can also be assigned featured images, and they behave the same as when assigning featured images to posts or projects, i.e. they display at the top if you view the page. The posts and pages on the demo site that don’t display featured images, don’t have featured images set. But if you set a featured image, it will display if you view a page or a post.

    @kokkieh,

    Pages can also be assigned featured images

    Yes, of course. But we’re talking about the possibility of preventing featured images from appearing on either of the following:
    1. single posts, while having them appear on the posts page, archives pages, and (if desired) when using display posts shortcode.
    2. portfolio projects, while having them appear on the portfolio, on a portfolio template page, and (if desired) when using portfolio shortcode
    3. child pages of a page with the grid template page assigned.

    Only child pages of a page with the grid page template assigned. No other static pages are analogous to single posts and portfolio projects in this regard. The featured image of page X will only appear on page Y if page Y is the parent of page X, and has the grid page template assigned.

    The posts and pages on the demo site that don’t display featured images, don’t have featured images set.

    I know that, but that wasn’t my point. The point is that only child pages of a grid page template page (and not all pages) are analogous to single posts and projects with respect to requiring CSS customization, if possible, to prevent featured images from displaying. You could always remove featured images from a child page of a grid page template page, but then the grid would have no images.

    The featured image of page X will only appear on page Y if page Y is the parent of page X, and has the grid page template assigned.

    Correction:
    If we’re confining the meaning of “page” to “static page,” then static page Y could also have various types of shortcode inserted into it, customized to include thumbnails, such as portfolio shortcode or display posts shortcode, as I’d previously mentioned.

    My habit of forgetting about shortcode is why I originally misidentified cave223’s Produtores page as a grid page template page.
