Sela Theme customization

  I have a few customization questions for a wordpress wiz.

  Thanks Jay. Total newbie here. If you click on the high level nav “tips for sanity”, you’ll see that I’ve written 2 blog posts. I don’t really like how it list the WHOLE post and also in the order of which the post is published. I would prefer for it to look like the “grid page” with sections.

  The work around is a little complicated. This theme offers “grid page” https://wordpress.com/theme/sela I would like to use that type of layout. But I don’t think I can use blog like the child pages where you just assign it to a grid page and it would show up in little blocks.

  Hi,

  I’m sure if this entirely addresses your ask here, but you can definitely insert a “Read More” tag into your blog posts manually to make sure they don’t show up in their entirety on a category page. Check this article out for more info:

  As a test, I’ve manually inserted one of these tags on my test blog. You can see it here.

  I inserted the “Read More” tag right after

  DOLOREM LIBERO DOLOR ILLUM IURE DOLOR ET in my blog post.

  Does that help? I still need to look further to see if it’s possible to add the Grid Page to Blog Posts rather than just Pages.

  Hey Jay. It does help. I just don’t like how the category page has a run of all the listings. So I am hoping there’s a work around to have it appear side by side on a grid page with feature image and “some”text. But I’ll give the Read More tag a try too!
